The UK Spouse Visa is the approval granted by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) to a non-UK resident, permitting them to move to the UK and live with their partner. The UK Spouse Visa is available to non-British nationals who are either married to or in a civil partnership with a British citizen, or with an individual holding indefinite leave to remain in the UK, settled status, and no time limit on their stay in the UK.
To qualify for a UK Spouse Visa, you must demonstrate a genuine and continuing relationship with your partner. This entails establishing that your relationship is authentic, ongoing, and not formed for immigration purposes. Additionally, you must meet all of the following conditions:
You must be legally married to your partner, and your marriage must be officially recognized in the UK
You must be in a lasting (long-term) relationship similar to marriage or civil partnership for a minimum of two years.
To substantiate the authenticity of your relationship, you may be required to present evidence such as photographs, correspondence, proof of shared financial responsibilities, or statements from friends and family.
